Beta-testing? We don't need no stinkin' beta-testing... We're SBN!!!
The new FanPost/Story interface is a classic example of taking perfectly good software and making a mess of it, as demonstrated on innumerable occasions by Microsoft. The glaring need is to fix the HORRIFIC MONKEY PILE that is the FanShot interface... Instead we have a new "jump page" bar that is not only unnecessary, but also buggy.
If one edits their post, like any competent writer, the New Disimproved software adds extra blank lines, like magic, both above and below the bar. It's super special!
The things we needed: a toolbox that allowed the use of color, changes of point size, and alternation of fonts (Times, anyone?). Instead, we are treated to automatic hyperlinks, whether we want them (as a few might) or NOT (count me in this group).
Do we have the ability to alter the postion (left/center/right) of an inserted graphic with a click? Nope, gotta use code. Somehow changing WYSIWYG to "Visual View" will be helpful in this task though, I'm sure.
Example: Lebron James, Dallas Mavericks, New Orleans Hornets, Papa Bear Bill O'Reilly, and the LA Times.
Magic hyperlinks for some, not for others. But what if I didn't want to hyperlink ANY?
There is no way to opt out of the Magical Autotagger.
Oops, I forgot to put a few boldface words in the top. Let me do that now.
The bottom line is that changes have been made which didn't need to be made (first page/jump page tabs), the glaring catastrophe that is the FanShots interface was not touched, and we have new, buggy, annoying software shoved down out throats without it having been beta-ed...
Grrrrrrrrr.

Golly, the bold text I inserted in my post didn't show up. Could that be................. something that actually needs to be worked on?

I also note here that the Autotagger is mandatory for stories, not for FanPosts, which sort of ruined my point here...

I just made an edit and another blank line inserted, BTW.

Changed "of" to "or" -- more blank lines...

Changed "Magic" to "Mavericks" -- you guessed it...

Calm down.
A simple email, minus the rage, would’ve sufficed, I’m sure. I’ve had no issues with the new editor, although I’ve only written one FanPost since the change.

hey timbo
Sorry I missed this feedback last week. We’ve made quite a few fixes and tweaks based on input from SB Nation members since you posted this. Hopefully that addressed some of the problems you encountered.
As bs.uf15bosox9bears23 suggested, emailing support@sbnation.com or using our support form is the best way to send us feedback like this.
We do test new features extensively before releasing them, but don’t always catch every case and we depend on our awesome community to help us work out the details.
I also sent you an email in case you miss this reply.
