Swish Appeal Integrates Access With Analysis And Voice

Yes, it is "only" women's basketball which doesn't exactly have "mass" appeal but there's no denying the great work being done by Q McCall over at "Swish" Appeal.

Q is currently going around the entire WNBA, conducting phone interviews with head coaches or GM's for each team and then smoothly integrating their responses into his already excellent statistical, positional and salary analysis.

His approach goes beyond the typical Q and A type interview to mix in what's always been the purview of the blog with a true insider's perspective giving fans a highly valuable and unique vision into their teams.

So far he's done the Sun, Lynx and Dream with more to come. I've heard from a source in the WNBA that Q's work is quickly gaining notice and recognition in front offices and this only helps raise the overall profile and reputation of the entire network.

In the process of doing these free agency roster stories, Q recently broke the news that the Connecticut Sun will in fact draft UConn's Tina Charles with the #1 pick in the up-coming draft. This had been hinted at, implied, and generally assumed but Coach Mike Thibault's direct quote on the matter to Swish Appeal was the first actual confirmation:

"I would think it would have to be something crazy that I can't even fathom right now that would make us change our mind," said Thibault when asked about drafting Charles in a phone interview with Swish Appeal Wednesday. "She's the reason we made the deal and she's clearly the number one pick. It's a pretty easy choice for us."

Keep up the great work, Q!

Thanks, guys.

I’ve been following a lot of the stuff you guys are putting out there about the WNBA, and I just wanted to let you know that I really appreciate the work you’re doing and stories you’re putting out there. It’s nice to see the W get some thoughtful coverage. Keep it up.

Thanks for the compliment!

I just love basketball, it’s been fun, and it’s always nice to know that people appreciate the work.

I’ll look forward to seeing more of your comments on the site — as much as the WNBA needs thoughtful coverage, it also needs thoughtful dialogue, one commenter at a time… :)

Great job Q

For every woman masturbating right now, there is a guy masturbating while imagining that woman masturbate.
