I love stories like this.  It's truly what SB Nation is all about.  And that's bringing the fans closer to their favorite team.  It's great to read about someone getting that close to one of their favorite players on their favorite team.

Best part? Peavy dropped the little bit that the Sox were trying to acquire Adrian Gonzalez.

Halos Heaven, SB Nation's Angels community, has a minor league expert named Ryan Ghan who updates the Angels faithful constantly on the state of their minor league team.  The Orange County Register turned to Ghan to discuss the state of all things Angels minor leagues.  

Sure it's disappointing whenever something as big as a championship in soccer comes down to PKs.  But that's exactly what happened last night for the MLS crown with Real Salt Lake taking the championship.  We launched our new Real Salt Lake blog RSL Soapbox earlier this week and wouldn't you know it, we managed to get him into the match.  As you can imagine, the results speak for themselves.  Congratulations to Denzel and RSL on winning it all!

It's been quite a week of football bloggers interviewing legends.  First, Hogs Haven got Joe Theismann and now our Chargers blog Bolts from the Blue had the opportunity to interview Chargers legendary tight end Kellen Winslow.  I'm half expecting the next one to be Joe Montana.  Stay tuned.

Chris Botta is the former VP of PR for the New York Islanders and he happens to run a hockey blog over at AOL Fanhouse.  But he knows the Islanders and the media surrounding it better than anyone, so when he says that the SB Nation Islanders blog Lighthouse Hockey is a must-read for Islanders fans, you better take that seriously.  Congrats to Dominik Jansky who runs LH for doing a remarkable job.

The SB Nation Washington Redskins site Hogs Haven had the chance to talk with Redskins legendary QB Joe Theismann at a charity event before Veteran's Day.  Here is the video from that interview and the post about it.

Our Minor League Baseball writer John Sickels had the opportunity to talk with Billy Beane this morning and ran it on his blog.  Beane goes into topics like Andrew Bailey as rookie of the year and what he should do moving into 2010.

SB Nation Denver Nuggets blog Denver Stiffs recently had the opportunity to spend some quality time with Nuggets head coach George Karl.  That is only the first part of a three-part series, so be sure to check back for much more to come.

The SB Nation Washington Redskins blog Hogs Haven recently had the opportunity to sit down and talk with Denver Broncos legend Karl Mecklenburg.

Mecklenburg recently released a book about teaching kids leadership which is where HH came in and decided that they could apply some of the lessons learned to this current edition of the Washington Redskins.

Andrew Geiger, the SB Nation writer who covers the Georgetown Hoyas at Casual Hoya, recently made an appearance on the Talking Hoyas podcast.  With the college basketball season tipping off, it's a perfect time to go listen to some hoops talk.
