Search User History

In the thread about network performance, it was suggested to place other questions or issues in a different area. I would email support but I'm hoping I'm doing something wrong and someone can help me out easily. I'm trying to find a few comments that have been made going back more than a couple years using the search function on my user page. After using the search, I'm getting results back that are listed as comments but I can't find the comments. The page shows "Results 1-10 of 94" for my search but nothing is showing. Clicking on "comments" does not work either. Any ideas?

Profiles in Redundancy

I like most of the recent modifications to the individual user profile pages, but there's one change that actually has made the page a bit more cumbersome to navigate.

Before the change, the bottom section of the page, showing icon links for all the SB Nation blogs of which I am a member, defaulted to show all such blogs. Now, the default setting is to show only those blogs I've designated as favorites.

This change does not seem, to me, to be a beneficial one. I always could access my favorite blogs with one click from the My SB Nation link in the top banner. The only reasons to click through to my full profile page were to i) check for recent comments, and ii) quickly link to one of member blogs. The redesign adds an extra step to reaching one of my (non-favorite) member blogs without making it any easier to reach my favorite blogs than it already was.

My request is that you restore the default on the user profile page to showing all blog memberships, rather than just favorite blog memberships. Otherwise, all of the other recent changes and upgrades here are great. Thank you.

(I realize that it's possible that most people use SB Nation in a different way than I do such that the above suggestion would not help a majority of users here. If that's the case, please ignore this post.)

How Harden’s Missed Shot Could Help Houston

Although Harden’s shot may have helped us take 6th seed on the standings, missing that shot may help Houston get past the first round of the Playoffs. Although you may say that we will lose a game on Golden State, this could help us play Memphis in the first round of the Playoffs instead of Denver.

At the moment Houston sits in 7th position and if the playoffs were today we would be playing San Antonio but Houston have a big possibility of making the 6th seed. Houston have 3 game left and Golden State have 2. At the moment Houston are 44-35 and Golden State are 45-35. If Houston at the end of the Playoffs have a tied record Houston wins the tiebreaker and would take 6th seed. The remaining games for Houston are Sacramento, Phoenix and (maybe) the Kobe-less Lakers. Golden State have 2 games against San Antonio and Portland. I am predicting Golden State to lose to San Antonio and beat Portland. If that happens Houston only have to win 2 of their 3 games to take 6th seed. If Golden State wins both, Houston have to win all their games. And if Golden State Lose both Houston only have to win 1. It looks like this:

GSW 2-0 HOU 3-0

GSW 1-1 HOU 2-1

GSW 0-2 HOU 1-2.

Still you may question why Harden’s missed shot helps us. It goes like this, at the moment if Houston takes the 6th seed we would play Denver. At the moment the standings the 3rd,4th and 5th seeds in the West go like this:

3 Denver 54-25

4 LA Clip.53-26

5 Memph.54-25

The reason for the Clippers being ahead of Memphis is because if you lead a division you take a place in the top 4, which means that Clippers will stay in 4th position. If you take out the Clippers it looks like this:

3 Denver 54-25

5 Memph.54-25

Denver would take the tiebreaker and take 3rd seed if they are to finish on a tie. So for Memphis to take the 3rd seed they need to be a game ahead of Denver so it looks like this:

DEN 3-0 MEM TAKE SEED 5

DEN 2-1 MEM 3-0

DEN 1-2 MEM 2-1

DEN 0-3 MEM 1-2.

If Memphis are to take the 3rd seed (Thanks to Harden) many fans may still say that Denver would be an easier opponent than Memphis, but I think that Houston could take Memphis out of the playoffs. Although Houston are 1-3 against Memphis this year, the first game we lost mainly because of poor shooting of James Harden at 22 percent. Houston then smashed Memphis in the next game but then lost the next game against Memphis. Then in the 4th game which was played today, Houston was missing a key shooter, Chandler Parsons and also missing an unfit Delfino.Parsons was the person we needed to help us out when our offence couldn't find anyone. If the playoffs end up going like this I believe Houston can take Memphis all the way to at least a 7th game and maybe win it.

Billy Morton

AUSTRALIAN PUNTER Jay Karutz getting NFL attention

Jay Karutz All-MAC First team is in a class of his own and is getting some serious NFL attention. His Pro day at EMU (Eastern Michigan University) was outstanding in all aspects of punting especially pooch, his accuracy is amazing. Karutz punted some big ones as well as a 70-yd 4.85s hang and because of this, combined with his natural talent as a punter is on more than one NFL teams radar. We will keep you up to speed with all Karutz punting recruiting news as it comes to hand. Stay posted.

jack all of SB Nation's swag with their site redesign? Upon starting to use this site extensively, the one thing that made it a unique experience was the nearly 'mirrored' nature of the author/reader relationship. SB Nation writers interact extensively with readers and readers can post original content much like a pseudo-author. This creates an environment where readers become contributors (to borrow a term from Bleacher Report) and both sides of site content interact on a near-even level.

Deadspin has always been writer-heavy, where Bleacher Report has primarily been reader/contributor heavy. SB Nation seemed to have struck the balance.

Now Deadspin uses the Kinja platform that allows readers to create their own Kinja blog and interact with writers using the same content-creation tools. It seems like a direct borrowing of the system SB Nation uses to engage readers and promote an environment of interaction. Thoughts?

Author Profiles Question

Has anyone used these on their sites? If so, how did you do them? I would love to be able to separate the guys that I have into basketball/football/baseball, etc, but the stock permissions titles don't allow for that.

When I try to set up profiles, I am not given a complete listing of all the authors that I have on site.

Is this an antiquated feature and I am just not aware of it?

Updates and Concerns About SB Nation Current System "The Overflow"

I do not represent SB Nation, but when long posts happen on EDSBS blog, someone volunteers some of their time and talent to post a new fan post or fan shot to compensate the overflow.

To get back to the original thread is here,

Some subjects we discussed were ranging from mobile to fan posts and fan shots themselves to comparing the old and new way SB Nation works.

Thanks to our providers for listening our concerns and ideas. To the fans, please proceed.

Q&A With Jeff Dubay about his descent into crack cocaine addiction.

The former sports radio host comes clean to reporter Steve Marsh about his descent into crack cocaine addiction.

For years, Jeff Dubay talked Minnesota sports from 9 am to noon on KFAN’s PA and Dubay Show. Paul Allen was the cheesed-out, Hall and Oates–loving smoothie. Dubay was the spazzy studio surrogate for the fan at home. After big victories and big losses, Dubay’s timbre would resonate at such a high pitch you thought he was going to have a nervous breakdown. That changed three years ago, when Dubay was arrested for possession of crack cocaine and fired. Now sober, he still has that magnetic nervous energy that reminds you how much fun it was to listen to him talk about the Twins and the Vikings. But now he’s talking about something else entirely.

Khan vs Molina live stream : This Saturday night on December 15th, Golden Boy Promotions is putting on one of their better cards on Showtime with former IBF/WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (26-3, 18 KO’s) facing Carlos Molina (17-0, 7 KO’s), heavyweight prospect Deontay Wilder (25-0, 25 KO’s) fighting the talented Kevlin Price (13-0, 6 KO’s), IBF bantamweight champion Leo Santa Cruz (22-0-1, 13 KO’s) fighting Alberto Guevara (16-0, 6 KO’s), junior middleweight Alfredo Angulo (21-2, 18 KO’s) making another tune-up fight against Jorge Silva (19-2-2, 15 Kos) and many, many more at the Sports Arena, in Los Angeles, California, USA.

I really like this card a lot, although I must admit the card is pretty much mismatches as far as the eye can see, but it should be interesting seeing how Khan does against this little guy that Golden Boy has found for him to turn his career around. It’s like a science experiment where they’re guessing everything will go right with their fighter, but the way Khan was knocked out in his last fight you can’t really tell. If Khan blows it here against this little fighter, then Golden Boy is going to need to think very hard about cutting their losses with Khan and releasing him from their contract.

You can’t keep a guy that can’t get past guys like Molina, Lamont Peterson, Breidis Prescott and Danny Garcia. Before Khan was beaten by Peterson and Garcia, Golden Boy picked out guys that were perfect for Khan, like Paulie Malignaggi, a washed up Zab Judah and a light hitting Paul McCloskey. However, Khan can’t revisit thought fights, and there are really not too many soft targets for Golden Boy to find for Khan at 140 or 147. It’s sink or swim now for Khan.

Khan is going to have a big target on his head on Saturday night because Molina knows this is his big chance and he knows he’s got a guy with a weak chin just begging punched. All Molina has to do is tap that chin as hard as he can and he’ll have Khan staggering around the ring like Bambi on ice

I’m not questioning what happened in this video clip. However, this video clip should have ended up with the police first, not Coug Center. My post centers on Coug loyalty.

Initially, I didn’t see any publicity from major news outlets, until Coug Center started publicizing it. As a result, all this blogging (which is more than the Huskies are doing) has put a pall on the most important victory in 4 years that Coug fans have ever had. I’m not saying don’t go after the person who did this. Involve the police. But look what has happened. Several mainstream news outlets have picked up a Coug Fan video clip & words from a Coug fan blog site. Forget about the 99.99% innocent fans. In other words, the police should have made this public first, or at the least, a Huskie website. Blog after that, if you will, but why be the ones to initiate it?

As a fan, I am disappointed. Now, you’ve made sure everyone “remembers” this. Thanks for dampening my spirit of this victorious game. And, I may not be in your champagne category, but I’m old enough to be your parent and perhaps a little wiser. Here’s the bottom line, though. I can’t even fathom a Huskie fan site obsessing over a similar incident at their stadium. As a matter of fact, to crystalize my point, here’s a direct quote from their blog, “In case you hadn’t heard, the guys at Coug Center have video of ASJ getting roughed up by field-storming fan after the game. Before you go blowing up over this, do note that ASJ has basically blown it off.” Need I say more? This article needs to be deep-sixed.

Top 10: Greatest NFL Rookie Seasons Of All Time

Doug Martin just ran wild for the second straight week . The rookie totaled 251 yards and 4 TD's on the ground, including an unbelievable 3 scores from 45 yards out or greater. If he continues to play well, he might find himself walking away from the 2012-13 season with a rushing title.

Andrew Luck, who threw for 433 yards that same week, is also off to a tremendous start, leading the previously abysmal Colts to a 6-3 record and likely a playoff berth. Robert Griffin III is looking like a pretty dominant force over in Washington, not mention his rookie RB Alfred Morris is the #4 overall rusher.

These young guys are clearly the real deal, and will likely close the year with some pretty impressive numbers no matter what. But the unusual prominence of rookies this year got me thinking...what are the greatest rookie performances of all time? Here's my top ten.

10. Bob Hayes

60's and 70's Dallas Cowboys receiver Bob Hayes registered 46 receptions for 1003 yards and 12 touchdowns his rookie year. Considered one of the greatest Cowboys of all time, Hayes also helped the Cowboys win Super Bowl VI against the Dolphins in 1972.

9. Clinton Portis

Clinton Portis is likely remembered primarily for his work with the Washington Redskins, but his rookie campaign with the Denver Broncos was really quite impressive. 1,508 yds and 15 scores on the ground and 364 yards and 2 scores through the air put his total yardage just below that of Edgerrin James and ties James' TD count. Difficult to argue with that.

8. Edgerrin James

When the Colts drafted James in 1999, critics believed they had made a mistake by not selecting Ricky Williams. As it turned out, James was not only the perfect fit for the team, he proved his worth immediately by winning the NFL rushing title in his rookie season with 1,553 yards and 13 TDs on the ground. He also tacked on 586 yards and 4 TDs through the air for a total of 17 scores.

7. Lawrence Taylor

Lawrence Taylor sits somewhere very close to the top of my list of people to never pick a fight with. Taylor's impressive career began when he recorded an INT, 133 tackles, 9.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in his rookie season. This was merely a taste of what Taylor had in store for the NFL in the coming years, but that doesn't make it any less incredible. This was one of the greatest defensive performances by a rookie in the history of the NFL.

6. Gale Sayers

During his 1965 debut with the Chicago Bears, Gale Sayers ran for 867 yards and 14 rushing touchdowns and had 507 receiving yards and 6 receiving touchdowns. He also managed to accumulate a total of 898 total return yards and 2 return TDs. That's 2272 all-purpose yards and 22 touchdowns. At the time, this was the single-season record for all-purpose yardage. for any player, not just rookies. Today, his rookie season still holds the #11 spot for all-purpose yards in a season and his 22 touchdowns stand at #12 all-time.

5. Dan Marino

Dan Marino is one of the all-time greatest NFL quarterbacks, but no one knew it until..well..6 weeks into his rookie year when he was finally given a start. Over the course of what was left of the season, Marino accumulated 2210 passing yards and 20 passing touchdowns while throwing only 6 interceptions (that would be the TD/INT ratio record for rookies). Imagine if he had had a full season to work with.

4. Randy Moss

Well this is an easy one. 1,313 yards and a rookie record 17 receiving touchdowns. A fitting way to kick off the career of one of the greatest receivers of all time.

3. Mark Carrier

Mark Carrier was quite simply a beast during his rookie season. Just listen to this stat line; 122 Tackles, 5 Forced Fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries and 10 interceptions. That level of play is just ludicrous on any level, and I would be surprised to see any rookies recreate Carrier's dominant 1st year.

2. Eric Dickerson

Eric Dickerson had by far the most effective rookie running back campaign in the history of the NFL. With 1,808 yards rushing and 404 yards receiving, Dickerson accumulated about 2,200 total yards his rookie year. Along with the yardage, he managed to score 18 rushing touchdowns and 2 receiving touchdowns. Dickerson also holds the record for most attempts from a rookie, at 390.

1. Cam Newton

After watching Newton's sophomore campaign go the way it has, it's hard to believe he sits atop this list, but there is simply no denying it. Newton threw for more yards than any other rookie in NFL history, and narrowly missed Peyton Manning's rookie record of 26 passing TD's with 21. He also ran for 706 yards and 14 touchdowns; both records for rookie QBs. Cam broke a slew of both rookie records and regular NFL records during this year. No doubt, this was the most impressive rookie season of all time. If only this year had gone the same way for Newton...

Honorable Mentions (In No Particular Order): Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, Tommy Nobis (294 Tackles), Anquan Boldin, Dick "Night Train" Lane, Patrick Peterson.

I understand that the season is only half over, and Tennessee is 3-3 with 6 games still to play this season. I understand that Derek Dooley is signed through the end of the 2015 season. I understand that with a win over Alabama this weekend, fans would want to give Dooley a contract extension instead of firing him. I also understand that you do not fire Dooley unless you have someone lined up to take his place, BUT Derek Dooley has a 14-17 record at Tennessee and is 4-15 in SEC play. This record includes an 0-13 mark against ranked teams, a loss to Kentucky, 0-8 against Florida, Georgia, and Alabama, and 0-1 in bowl game (Music City Bowl).

Dooley buyout:

• Before Feb. 15, 2013- $5 million

• Before Feb. 15, 2015- $4 million

• After Feb. 15, 2015- $2.5 million

Considering that Nick Saban, Les Miles, Urban Myer, SteveSpurrier, and Peyton Manning will not be coaching for Tennessee next year, here is my list of top potential coaches for Tennessee.

1. Jon Gruden- ESPN Monday Night Football

I love this guy. He is half of the reason I watch Monday Night Football. Gruden served as a Graduate Assistant for Tennessee in 1986-1987 under Johnny Majors. He won Super Bowl XXXVII with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I believe that with a Gruden hire, Bray, Patterson, andHunter could return for their senior season. It would be tough to leave his current job, but I believe he could miss coaching.

2. Pete Carroll- Seattle Seahawks HC

If you are going to dream, dream big. I did not like Carroll when he was head coach of USC, but he is more bearable with the Seattle Seahawks. He won the BCS Championship with USC in 2005 and has 6 BCS bowl victories. I am not sure that Carroll would leave the West Coast, but there could be a part of him that misses the college game and recruiting his own players.

3. Charlie Strong- Louisville HC

I believe that Strong is the best option of current college coaches. Being in the same region and currently coaching, he could put together a great recruiting class quickly. He has spent time in the SEC and won 2 BCS Championships with Florida as defensive coordinator. If he is willing to leave the cupcake Big East, Tennessee is a great fit for him.

4. Chris Petersen- Boise State HC

With Boise State joining the Big East next year, this is a chance for Petersen to get out before the competition gets tougher, if you call the Big East tougher. His 78-7 record with 2 undefeated seasons and 10+ wins each year is a good thing to see on a resume.

5. Gary Patterson- Texas Christian HC

Does Patterson want out of the Big 12 after one year to join a better conference where he can be the best team in the state? It is tough to leave the fertile recruiting grounds of Texas. Patterson is 114-31 at TCU since becoming head coach.

6. Bobby Petrino- Unemployed

This guy is a winner. He has proven it everywhere he has been. Off-field issues have him lower on this list than he should be. Petrino had Arkansas a title contender before being let go for off-field issues.

7. Dan Mullen- Mississippi State HC

Mullen has turned the program at MSU around and has given them hope in Skarkville. A win over a more talented Tennessee last week has him on this list, but it is tough to change head coaching jobs in conference.

8. Tony Dungy- NBC Football Night in America

Every parent in America would want their son to play for Dungy. Could you imagine if Peyton Manning became offensive coordinator under Dungy. Hey, it could happen. He won Super Bowl XIII as a player and won Super Bowl XLI as a coach.

9. Bill Cowher- CBS The NFL Today

This name always comes up for Tennessee head coach. Not sure why. Cowher won Super Bowl XL.

10. Gus Malzahn- Arkansas State HC

I am not sure why Malzahn did not take a bigger coaching job after last season. Maybe he knew Auburn was in trouble and jumped ship quickly. Malzahn was offensive coordinator at Auburn for the 2010 BCS Championship.

11. Kirby Smart- Alabama DC

Smart is the top coordinator in the country. He has 2 BCS Championships as defensive coordinator at Alabama in 2009 and 2011. Dave Hart, Tennessee athletic director, is from Alabama and could make this happen.

12. Dana Holgorsen- West Virginia HC

If you are looking for a coach who can replace Dooley’s hair, this is your guy. Along with his hair, Holgorsen is known for his high powered offenses from Texas Tech to Houston to Oklahoma State to West Virginia.

13. Pat Fitzgerald- Northwestern HC

A winning record at Northwestern and 4 straight bowl games has Fitzgerald on this list, but I do not think he will leave Northwestern.

14. Willie Taggart- Western Kentucky HC

Taggart has turned the WKU program around since joining the FBS in 2010 and has many wins over Kentucky as Dooley does.

15. David Cutcliffe- Duke HC

Cutcliffe was at Tennessee when they won the BCS Championship and has Duke one win away from being bowl eligible 7 games into the season.

16. Sonny Dykes- Louisiana Tech HC

I know you are saying not another Louisiana Tech coach, but Dykes is going somewhere bigger after this year.

17. Tommy Tuberville- Texas Tech HC

It has been 4 years since Tuberville has been in the SEC, but during his time at Auburn, Tuberville was 7-3 against Alabama. I know any Tennessee fan would take that right now.

Power Rankings from Spogo

Week 5 Preview: Spogo Power Rankings

www.playspogo.com

We're working our way into the meat of this season. When teams have to compensate for injuries, answer questions about controversy at positions, and when the weather might, just might, be cold enough for Tom Coughlin’s face to start getting red. As we enter Week 5, I think it’s time to give the Spogo Power Rankings a run. We’ll be looking at the top ten teams and their upcoming games. Forget everything you’ve read on ESPN, it’s tomfoolery compared to this incontrovertible excellence.

1. Houston Texans (4-0)

Johnson is big, athletic, and strong as a horse.

These Texans are far from the days of David Carr. In fact, they are the most complete football team in the league right now. Their offense is a multi-faceted monster headlined by Arian Foster, Andre Johnson, and Matt Schaub. On the other side of the ball, all those reps against this elite offense in training camp have paid off. This year, they rank 2nd in passing defense, and 11th in rushing defense. The offseason acquisition of Johnathan Joseph has seriously paid off for this secondary, and JJ. Watt could not be having a better season. Side note: did anyone see that hit Glover Quin put on Jake Locker? BAM! Now that’s how you hit a quarterback.

This week (@ New York Jets, Monday 8:00 PM, EST) - The Texans deserve to be on the biggest stage, and what’s bigger than Monday Night Football? Maybe they’ll get caught looking ahead to Green Bay in Week 6. If not, sorry Jets fans, but it seems like you’ll be crawling back into your caves come Tuesday morning.

2. San Francisco 49ers (3-1)

While the 49ers did drop a game to the Minnesota Vikings (biggest surprise of the year at 3-1), they took it out on the Jets and displayed just how merciless their defense is. They were so angry, I’m pretty sure Carlos Rodgers laughed at Santonio Holmes when he coughed up the ball on his season ending play. Sure the passing game is suspect at 30th in the league, but the running game makes up for that, finishing Week 4 in 3rd place (167.0 YPG). Even if they have a hard time in the running game, prepare to dig in against this squad that ranks 5th in both rushing and passing defense. They say defense wins championships, right?

This Week (vs. Buffalo Bills, 4:25 PM, EST) - I’d like to say the Bills will be fired up after their trashing, will journey to Cali, and stick it to the 9ers. But let’s be honest, the 9ers haven’t lost at home since Week 2 of last year (in overtime to the Cowboys). The Bills have such a putrid defense right now, Alabama’s offense might give them a run.

3. Atlanta Falcons (4-0)

Matt Ryan is still in the driver seat for MVP, especially after that ridiculous throw to Roddy White to beat the Panthers (seriously, I didn’t know he had that throw in him). Not every win in this league is going to be pretty, but Matty Ice found a way to get it done. They don’t have a dominating anything, but their cohesiveness is evident. They are blessed with possibly the best two-receiver combo in the game in White and Jones. Both are big, athletic players that can make all the catches. The distribution between the two each game is what worries me. Ryan seems to favor one guy or the other each week. I’m waiting for that game where they both get 100+ yards.

This Week (@ Washington Redskins, 1:00 PM, EST) - This is one of the more enticing QB match ups of the week. RG III has proven he is the real deal and the Falcons could use some help in their run defense (ranked 29th overall). RG III and Alfred Morris might be able to exploit that to make this a shootout. However, with the Falcons at home, and Ryan’s experience, the Falcons move to 5-0.

4. Baltimore Ravens (3-1)

Fast, strong, agile, and durable… what more can a team want?

Flacco’s maturation process is starting to pay off. Last week he made all the throws he needed to, notably the 18-yard strike to Torrey Smith for a TD. While he did get picked off once, the Ravens have the 4th ranked passing offense in the league (310.3 YPG). To flatter this, they have the bowling ball beast, Ray Rice. This guy can plow through your snowed in driveway without breaking a sweat. He can also make plays as a receiver, which gives them a back not many teams possess.

This Week (@ Kansas City Chiefs, 1:00 PM, EST) - Sadly, we have another one-sided match up. While Arrowhead may be the loudest stadium in the country, the Ravens should have no problem going into KC, eating some delicious BBQ Saturday night and still pulling a W.

5. Green Bay Packers (2-2)

The Packers should be 3-1, but I guess we have them to thank for bringing the refs back. Aaron Rodgers had a classic line on the sound bites from the week. To a ref: "we could’ve used you last week". While they’re 2-2, they have the best player in the game in Rodgers. There is no quarterback who can make all the throws inside the pocket and on the run, has his football IQ, and can beat teams with his feet. While his speed isn’t RG III fast, he’s faster than defensive lineman, and most linebackers. He has an arsenal of weapons, and a defense that has considerably stepped up their game from last year (6th best pass defense). Hopefully, "The Call" in Seattle may come back to haunt them in a tight NFC North.

This Week (@ Indianapolis Colts, 1:00 PM, EST) - The loss of their head coach Chuck Pagano could fire this team up, or sweep the rug from under their feet (Spogo wishes Pagano a speedy recovery). With the Packers coming to town, I’m not sure it matters much. Luck will have his hands full with this pass defense, and the Colts, who seem to always be playing from behind, will undoubtedly have to throw the ball often against the Pack. Discount Double-Check will be a frequent citing.

6. New England Patriots (2-2)

Coming off one of the most outstanding halves of football, the Patriots stock rose. Not because Tom Brady lit up the field (which he did), but because the Patriots established a running game. This could be a sign of the Mayans having the end of the world correctly, or Belichick realizing he needs a ground game to win the Super Bowl again.

This Week: (vs. Denver Broncos, 4:25 PM, EST) - Two of the top ten teams clash in Gillette Stadium in the game of the week. We know Brady will get his, I’m watching to see if the Patriots can keep up the proficient running attack. This 9th ranked Broncos rush defense should be a better barometer for its success. If the Patriots rushing game thrives in this one, watch out AFC.

7. Arizona Cardinals (4-0)

Before all hell breaks loose that I have an undefeated team 7th, I’m sorry I’m not sorry. The Cardinals have showed me nothing that would merit them a higher position. How is this team 4-0?! They have the 25th ranked passing offense, 29th ranked rushing attack, 21st ranked passing offense, and 15th (they broke into the teens!) ranked rushing defense. I feel like I’m taking crazy pills! Who does Kevin Kolb think he is, messing with my mind like this?

This Week (@ St. Louis Rams, 8:20 PM Thursday, EST) – Based on the last few years, this weeks Thursday match up seems on the boring side, but I believe it will be quite the contrary. I think St. Louis has a good chance in this one. Bradford has improved substantially in his downfield throws, completing 52.8 percent of his 10+ yard attempts (up from 34.5 percent last year). Rams, get these impostors of my list!

8. Chicago Bears (3-1)

The Bears last few years have been like Hollywood celebrity relationships. One minute it’s all sunshine and spa treatments, the next it’s pictures on TMZ of them crying as their girlfriend throws an appletini in their face. Then, three weeks later their holding hands again on Rodeo Drive. But, when they’re good, they’re good. Other than their drunken Week 2 performance in Green Bay, they’ve looked together on both sides of the ball. The Bears will be hoping that Matt Forte can recover quickly before they hit the thick of the NFC North schedule. Other than Forte, I need to see another receiver step up other than Marshall. Good teams can stifle any one receiver on a given day; they need a compliment to match.

This Week (@ Jacksonville Jaguars, 4:05 PM, EST) - The Jags only bright spot is their 15th ranked rushing attack (yeah, for Jacksonville, that’s bright). Even Maurice Jones-Drew will have a hard time breaking this Bears run defense (3rd best).

9. Philadelphia Eagles (3-1)

McCoy had 123 rushing yards, to lead the Eagles in a 19-17 win last week.

It pains me so, but despite their loss to Arizona in Week 2, the Eagles have played solid football. Their only issue has been

turnovers, which has made their games closer than they’ve needed to be. Their win last week against the Giants shows how fast this offense and defense are. Most importantly, they took care of the ball all game, and it paid off in the end.

This Week (@ Pittsburgh Steelers, 1:00 PM, EST) - This Keystone state matchup between two blue-collar towns is always a fun one to watch. While Big Ben and the Steelers offense has been relying on the pass heavily, they get back Rashard Mendenhall this week. They also get fierce leader James Harrison back from injury, and he may be the missing link for an uncharacteristically mediocre Steelers defense. Philadelphia will need to minimize turnovers again, against a productive Steelers offense, in order to move to 4-1.

10. Denver Broncos (2-2)

I don’t care what anyone says: Peyton Manning is BACK! We saw him make accurate fastball throws and call audibles that turned into touchdowns against Oakland last week. It got me all giddy. I had dreams that night that him and I were in the backyard playing catch and he was giving me high-fives and telling me how awesome it was to be my best friend for life. Then we went inside and had tapenade and watched football. Mmmm, tapenade. Wait, where was I?

This Week (New England Patriots, 4:25 PM, EST) – The Broncos are finally hitting the back end of this murderer’s row of games (Steelers, Falcons, Texans, Patriots). Peyton vs. Brady has always been a great watch. This time, Peyton has a defense though. We saw that defense shut down Darren McFadden last week, but after seeing the Patriots run all over the Bills, will the Broncos be too worried about the run? Leave it to Belichick to run it five times total on Sunday, throwing us all for a loop. Sneaky bugger…

Tune in for the recap Spogo Power Rankings where I put my foot in my mouth. Stay classy, football fans.
