September is here tomorrow and that means that hockey training camps are opening shortly. So expect the hockey content to start picking up. James Mirtle runs our general hockey blog From the Rink. He went to Nashville this offseason and published a series of posts looking at the state of hockey in the land of country music. But today he caps those posts off with an interview with Nashville Predators owner David Freeman. Freeman is a fascinating figure as he's essentially taken on the Predators as a community service, much like the Haas family did with the Oakland A's. You don't find too many owners like that in sports any more where they run a team as a service to their community.
