UPDATED: New commenting code now live on all SB Nation sites

New, 130 comments

The code that's been running here on Blog Huddle now live across the SB Nation network.

Jason Smith

We've been teasing the release of new commenting code across the network for a while now and the time is finally here. The commenting code that is running here on Blog Huddle (as well as Arrowhead Pride, Detroit Bad Boys, House of Sparky, and Land Grant Holy Land) is going to be rolled out to the rest of the network on Thursday.

We've done a lot of work to ensure that as little as possible has changed about the commenting functionality so the update should be relatively seamless for you. After this release our commenting will use a more modern and robust javascript language. This will help with performance across browsers and devices, gives us cross-vertical code consistency (the same javascript will be used on SB Nation, The Verge, and Polygon), and allows us to make code changes more easily in the future.

The one new thing that this release will bring to the full network is the new touch bar on mobile and tablet devices. This allows for comment navigation on those devices, which is probably in the top 5 of all-time most requested items for SB Nation.

I'll post in this thread (and update the headline) when the update is live. As always, if you see any trouble with the release please email support@sbnation.com. Let us know if you have any questions at all.

UPDATE: The code is now live across the network.
